This is a folding style ladder, the side of the frame is 22 inches by 53 1/2 inches.
The top run of the ladder part is 4 feet and the part that folds down opens to an additional 5 feet. see photos for where we measured to see if it will fit for you. We went with fixed staircase after remodeling. This works fine, we just no longer need it. was in an 8 ft tall room
